News: Citi Launched New Strata Premier Card - Credit-Land.com

Citi launched a new credit card - the Citi Strata Premier℠ Card - which is basically an upgraded version of the now gone Citi Premier® Card (no longer available to new applicants). The new card has important improvements aimed at frequent travelers. As a result, the Citi Strata Premier℠ Card can compete head-to-head with the best travel credit card offers. Here's what you need to know about the new card and its new features and benefits.

Like many new card offers, the Citi Strata Premier℠ Card comes with a limited-time welcome bonus of 70,000 bonus ThankYou® Points. To qualify for it, cardmembers will need to spend $4,000 in the first three months of account opening. These 70,000 points can be redeemed for $700 in travel rewards or gift cards at thankyou.com. Or you can transfer them to partner loyalty programs to potentially get more value.

Here are the ongoing rewards, which haven't changed much compared to the expired Citi Premier® Card's rewards:

- 10X points on hotels, car rentals, and attractions booked on CitiTravel.com (NEW)

- 3X points on air travel

- 3X points on other hotel purchases

- 3X points at restaurants and supermarkets

- 3X points on gas purchases

- 3X points at EV gas stations (NEW)

- 1X points on all other purchases.

In addition to rewards, Citi added travel benefits: car rental insurance, trip cancellation and interruption insurance, trip delay insurance, and lost or damaged luggage insurance. And, of course, loved by many $100 Annual Hotel Benefit (terms apply) is still available with the card. This single benefit is enough to offset the card's $95 annual fee if used wisely.

As you can see, the Citi Strata Premier℠ Card has all the potential to become a strong player among travel credit card offers. It can be used for a lot of situations with its broad rewards categories and flexible redemption options.
