News: NEW Discover 5% Cashback Bonus® Calendar For 2021 - Credit-Land.com

On November 1, Discover revealed quarterly categories for its next year's 5% Cashback Bonus® calendar. The 5% calendar for 2021 lists categories we've loved from previous years and introduced a new category as well.

The 5% Cashback Bonus program allows cardholders of select Discover credit cards to earn up to 5% cash back on $1,500 of spending in quarterly bonus categories. That translates into a maximum of $75 cash back each quarter. Activation of each quarterly bonus category is required. If you do not activate, you will earn 1% cash back. Also, once you reach the quarter limit of $1,500 in purchases, you will continue earning 1% cash back in this category.

Here are new rewards categories of 5% Calendar for 2021:

  • January - March: grocery stores, Walgreens, and CVS
  • April - June: gas stations, wholesale clubs, and select streaming services
  • July - September: restaurants and PayPal
  • October - December: Target.com, and Walmart.com

The 2021's absolutely new bonus category is Select Streaming Services (in the second quarter). This category includes the following TV and music streaming services: Apple Music, Apple TV+, AT&T TV Now, BET+, CBS All Access, DAZN, Disney +, ESPN+, Fubo TV, Google Play Movies & TV, HBO Max, Hulu, Netflix, Pandora, Philo, Peacock TV, Showtime, Sirius XM, Starz, Sling, Spotify, Vudu, and YouTube TV.

Discover has two credit cards - Discover it® Cash Back and Discover it® Student Cash Back - that are part of the 5% Cashback Bonus program. If you already have one of those credit cards, you can go ahead and plan your future everyday spendings to earn maximum in the program. If not, you might want to have one in your wallet.
