News: NHL & Discover Extend and Expand Their Partnership - Credit-Land.com

The National Hockey League (NHL) and Discover Financial Services renewed their multiyear U.S. partnership.

Discover has been an NHL supporter since 2010. The extension of the partnership means Discover will retain its status as the Official Credit Card of the NHL® in the U.S. Plus, the new agreement names Discover the Official Bank of the NHL® in the U.S.

NHL fans will still be able to apply for the NHL® Discover it® credit card and choose the NHL Shield or their favorite team's logo from 31 NHL teams. The card also offers:

  • 5% cash back in categories that change each quarter, up to the quarterly maximum, activation is required
  • 1% cash back on all other purchases - automatically
  • 10% off purchases at Shop.NHL.com. Must use the promo code ITPAYS at checkout to receive a discount
  • Automatic cashback match of all the cash back earned by the end of the first cardmembership year

The expanded partnership also makes Discover a title partner of NBC Sports' Hockey Day in America, which is set to take place on February 16, 2020 with a triple-header of NHL games on NBC and NBCSN.
