With summertime coming to an end people hitting the road to get in some last days at the beach or take a road trip, Gulf Oil is looking to give people more reasons to apply for or upgrade to their Gulf Visa Card by upgrading their rewards.
With the new card, holders earn five points per dollar when they gas up or make any other purchase at a Gulf Station for the first two months of membership, up from the three points per dollar that cardholders usually earn when rolling up to a Gulf Station.
All other purchases earn one point per dollar as usual. With this card there is no limit on how many points people can earn at the pump or anywhere else. To take advantage of this upgrade people must send in their application for the Gulf Oil Visa card by October 15, 2016. The card is issued by First Bankcard, which is a division of First National Bank of Omaha.
Getting rewarded
What about cashing in your reward points once you earn them at the pump, shopping or paying bills? You can redeem them for Gulf gift cards when you hit the 2,000 point threshold. With every 2,000 points being equal to a $20 gift card. They can be redeemed in increments of $20, $40, $60, $80 and $100. Gift cards are automatically sent out to people when they meet their threshold.
Once you have the gift card in hard it can be used at any Gulf branded gas station for everything from a tank of gas and oil change to any other service offered by the station.
Getting the word out
Gulf is rolling out the campaign at the gas stations from now until the early fall letting people know about their Gulf Visa Card and their new offer. They have also taken the credit card processing fee off the table for Gulf Station owners making it a lucrative option for them too.
