News: ThankYou from Citi Gets First Hotel Transfer Partner - Credit-Land.com

Citi (a Credit-Land.com advertising partner) has added Choice Privileges®, the loyalty program of Choice Hotels, as a ThankYou Rewards transfer partner. This is the first Citi ThankYou hotel partner since Hilton Honors left the program in late 2017.

Effective immediately, cardholders of select Citi Thankyou credit cards will be able to transfer points to Choice Hotels. The transfer ratio varies depending on the card you have, but still offers great value in the right situations. Thus, cardmembers of the Citi Prestige®, Citi Premier® Card can transfer ThankYou® Points to Choice Privileges® Points at a 1:2 ratio. And cardmembers of the Citi ThankYou® Preferred, Citi Rewards+® Card, and Citi Double Cash® Card can transfer at a 1 ThankYou point to 1.5 Choice Privileges points rate.

The Choice Privileges program includes such brands as Comfort Inn, Quality Inn, Clarion, Cambria Hotels, and WoodSpring Suites. There are not many ways to earn Choice Privileges points, especially directly with the cards. The only co-branded credit card is the Choice Privileges® Visa Signature® card. So this addition of Choice Privileges as a Citi transfer partner is good news. It will be easier for Choice Privileges members to boost their points balance for award stays.

Choice is also an American Express Membership Rewards transfer partner. But the transfer ratio is 1:1, which is not as good as Citi's offer. Plus, Capital One will soon add Choice Privileges to their set of transfer partners and the transfer ratio will also be 1:1.
