It is not for nothing that co-branded credit cards enjoy a significant part of the credit market and customers' continuous loyalty. When two or more major brands sing a partnership the quality of their services and magnificence of rewards can surpass all possible expectations.

Airline credit cards and hotel chain cards are a good example of how customers can benefit from a co-branded rewards program. Airlines, hotel chains and gas stations are, however, the most regular companies partnering with card issuers for a mutually profitable business.

What would you say about movie industry as a source of co-branded credit cards?

What would you say about Universal Studios announcing a multi-year partnership with American Express Company and GE Money, a world famous financial services company?

In the first place you will probably try to picture to yourself the superb credit rewards that these brand giants can offer in return for their customers' loyalty. And you will be right. A customer's once-in-a-lifetime spending and entertainment experience is what the companies are targeting at.

It would be logical to assume that, being a mutual product of the financial an entertainment companies, the new Universal American Express Card will offer some specific consumer type rewards. Oh, yes, the card is a perfect present for cinema-lovers!

At first sight, it is an Amex traditional credit card, charging no annual fee, reasonable APR for premier accounts and allowing a balance transfer option. But its unique reward program will leave you breathless.

Just the same day you sign up for the GE Money-Universal-American Express partnership, you are offered valuable benefits, such as discounts on merchandize and restaurants within Universal Park and CityWalk, or exclusive VIP access to Universal Park events.

Universal rewards points earned on qualifying net purchases made with the card give an unbelievable redemption opportunity - movie premieres at Universal, free tickets, private screenings and all the so popular cash rewards.

When a cardholder makes a purchase through the Universal Parks and Resorts properties, he/she is eligible for double point rewards! It is not all. Universal Studios Theme Parks has provided for enticing discount programs which include such qualifying purchases as online theme park tickets and various items bought at certain Universal Studios theme park locations.

American Express representatives reveal their utter satisfaction from the new alliance with GE Money and Universal. On the one hand, extending the type of their already sophisticated rewards, the company allows access to unforgettable entertainment experience and thus wins more devoted customers.

On the other hand, Amex reps admit that the agreement gives them the first splendid opportunity to participate in the promotion of the Universal through the payment services industry.
