Chase Card Services and Avios Group Limited are keeping their partnership going by inking a new deal paving the way for a multi-year extension to the British Airways Visa Signature Card, letting cardholders earn Avios. With this card people earn triple points when traveling with British Airlines, as well as Aer Lingus and Iberia. They also earn the triple points on LEVEL purchases.
This renewal is seen as a way to build upon their already existing partnership, as well as provide cardholders with more benefits and rewards. "This extension builds on our rich history with Avios and British Airways - spanning nearly three decades - and reinforces our mutual commitment to enhancing the value and experience of our program in the years ahead," said Leslie Gillin, President of Co-Brand Credit Cards at Chase.
"As British Airways commemorates its 100th anniversary this year, we will also be celebrating with valuable product enhancements for our customers," she added.
Earning points with British Airways Visa Signature Card*
When new cardholders come onboard they earn 4 Avios for every dollar they spend with their card during the first year. The cap for this promotion is $30,000, which means they can earn up to 120,000 Avios with this promotion if they hit that spending cap.
From that point on they earn triple points when flying with British Airways, Aer Lingus and Iberia, as well as on LEVEL purchases. And all other purchases get them 1 Avios per dollar.
How can cardholders redeem their rewards? That is a good question. Cardholders can use them to book reward flights, as well as get a hotel room and/or rental car.
Benefits and perks
When cardholders are approved for the British Airways Visa Signature Card they are also automatically enrolled in the British Airways Executive Club.
If they spend $30,000 cardholders also get a Travel Together Ticket. They can get one ticket per year as long as they spend the required $30,000 with their card. These tickets must be redeemed within two years of being issued for a flight on British Airways.
When traveling abroad there are no foreign transaction fees to deal with.
New cardholders also get 10% off British Airways flights as long as they are booked via the website an booked before March 31, 2020.The annual fee for this card is $95, and people can get more information about it on the website.
