News: Citi Ads New Airline Transfer Partner: Japan Airlines - Credit-Land.com

Great news for those who like to transfer credit card points to book award flights: Japan Airlines Mileage Bank has become a new Citi ThankYou Rewards transfer partner. What is more, the new partnership was launched with a 30% transfer bonus.

Citi ThankYou Rewards already has such transfer partners as American Airlines, JetBlue, Virgin Atlantic, Cathay, Eva Air, Choice Hotels and others. The addition of JAL Mileage Bank means more opportunities to save within your Citi ThankYou profile.

The transfer ratio to Japan Ailine is 1:1 for Citi Strata Elite℠ Card and Citi Strata Premier® Card members. Cardholders of Citi Strata℠ Card, Citi Double Cash® Card, Citi Custom Cash® Card* and some other eligible cards will be able to transfer at a lower 1:0.7 ratio.

However, there is a promotion for the new partner: eligible cardmembers can transfer ThankYou Points to JAL Mileage Bank miles with a 30% bonus. That means that every 1,000 transferred ThankYou Points will become 1,300 JAL Mileage Bank miles (or 900 miles with cards that transfer at a 1:0.7 ratio). This bonus offer is available through October 24, 2026.

If you do not have plans to transfer ThankYou Points just yet, consider opening a JAL Mileage Bank account now. JAL generally doesn't allow members to redeem miles for awards within 60 days of opening an account.

The JAL Mileage Bank program has other credit card transfer options. It's already a transfer partner at Bilt, Capital One.
