News: Earning 120,000 Avios with the British Airways Visa Signature Card - Credit-Land.com

The bonus for the British Airways Visa Signature Card has been upgraded, now new cardholders are can earn 120,000 Avios during the first year they have their card. In order to earn these Avios, they will have to charge $30,000 to their card during that year. This upgrade gives new cardholders 20,000 additional Avios because in the past they were offering new cardholders 100,000 Avios.

How does this work? Cardholders earn four points per dollar on all purchases during the first year they have the card until they hit 120,000 Avios. After that point, people earn 3 Avios per dollar spent when booking flights with British Airways, as well as Aer Lingus, Iberia, and LEVEL. And on all other purchases, they earn 1 Avios per dollar they spend.

British Airways is a partner in the Oneworld airline alliance, so when it's time to redeem their Avios cardholders can book flights with any of the airlines in the alliance.

The inside scoop on perks

With British Airways Visa Signature Card people also get 10% off British Airways flights if they are booked before March 31, 2020. They must also use the website to book their flights. If they use a third party site they will not get the discount.

Cardholders can also get a Travel Together Ticket once a year when they charge $30,000 on their British Airways Visa Signature Card. The Travel Together Ticket is actually a voucher, which can be used toward a companion ticket on British Airline flights. They are good for two years.

When traveling abroad people with this card do not have to pay foreign transaction fees, which can be a real money saver.

Points do not expire

With this card points do not expire as long as cardholders use their card every 36 months, whether they buy a latte, dinner out, book a trip or buy anything else.

Also, new cardholders will automatically be enrolled in the British Airways Executive Club program.

The annual fee for this card is $95.
