News: Get Up to 6% Back with a New U.S. Bank Shopper Cash Rewards Card - Credit-Land.com

U.S. Bank has recently introduced a new cash back credit card - the U.S. Bank Shopper Cash Rewards™ Visa Signature® Card. The new card offers up to 6% and 3% cash back in customizable categories in addition to a 1.5% base rewards rate.

This new U.S. Bank Shopper Cash Rewards card will be beneficial for almost everyone, but especially for those who know their spending and who do not mind choosing shopping categories and activating them. However, if you tend to spend more than $1,500 per quarter on retail, a different cash back credit card may be better for you.

The U.S. Bank Shopper Cash Rewards™ Visa Signature® Card has no annual fee for the first year (then $95/year) and offers plenty of opportunities to earn cash back rewards. Here's a quick overview of the card:

  • 6% cash back on your first $1,500 in combined eligible purchases each quarter with two retailers you choose,
  • 3% cash back on your first $1,500 in eligible purchases on your choice of one everyday category (like wholesale clubs, gas and EV charging stations, bills and utilities),
  • 1.5% cash back on all other eligible purchases,
  • 5.5% cash back on prepaid hotel and car reservations booked directly in the Rewards Travel Center.

To earn 6% and 3% cash back, you will need to enroll each quarter into two retailers and one purchase category of your choice. If you do not enroll, all your purchases will earn the base reward - 1.5% cash back.

The list of merchants where you can earn 6% cash back include Apple®, Amazon.com™, Best Buy®, Crate & Barrel™, Home Depot®, Ikea®, Lowe's®, Macy's™, Pottery Barn®, QVC®, Target®, Walmart®, and more (the retailer list may change).

In addition to everyday rewards, new cardmembers can also earn a $250 bonus. To qualify for the sign-up bonus, you will need to spend $2,000 in eligible purchases withing the first 120 days of account opening.

While the U.S. Bank Shopper Cash Rewards card is full of cash back earning opportunities, it does not have a zero promo APR on purchases. So, if you're planning to put a big purchase on the card to earn 6% cash back for it, you may want to look for a different credit card that has a intro APR on purchases.
