If you have been thinking about signing up for one of Hilton's credit cards, you may want to take another look because Hilton has increased their sign up bonuses for new cardholders. These new bonuses now fall in the 75,000 to 150,000 point range depending upon the card people apply for, and they require a minimum spend to bank the points.
These new offers were originally for Hilton Honors members, but as of September 11th, 2018, everyone can take advantage of them. This upgrade in bonuses is available only for a limited time so people may want to get started sooner than later if they find the offers attractive.
Getting up to 150,000 bonus points with consumer credit cards
What does the new bonus structure for the Hilton credit cards look like? That is a great question, and here is the answer for their personal credit cards:
- Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card: People looking to maximize points can do so with this card, offering 150,000 bonus points with a $4,000 spent during the first 3 months.
- Hilton Honors American Express Ascend Card: This card provides 125,000 points to new cardholders once they spend $2,000 with their credit card during the first 3 months of card membership.
- Hilton Honors American Express Card: With this card people can get 75,000 bonus points once they spend $1,000 during the first 3 months they have their new card.
In the past, they have made similar offers for their credits cards for a limited time, but this is a new upgrade for the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card. Along with the 150,000 bonus point’s people also get Hilton Diamond status for free, and a wide range of credits, including a $250 Hilton resort statement credit. They also get one weekend night a year as a reward and an additional $250 credit to cover miscellaneous airline fees.
When it comes to earning point’s people get 14X points when staying at Hilton Hotels, as well as 7X points when booking flights from actual airlines rather than third-party vendors or via Amex travel. That said they also earn 7X points when renting a car and eating out at restaurants in the United States. All other spends net cardholder’s triple points.
The annual fee for this card is $450.
An enhanced bonus for business cardholders
People who apply for a get the Hilton Honors American Express Business Card can also take advantage of an increased bonus. They now earn 125,000 points once they charge $5,000 on their card during the first 90 days they have the card.
