Shell Oil and Citi Retail Services (Citi is a Credit-Land.com advertising partner) have teamed up to roll out the new Shell | Fuel Rewards MasterCard, along with the new private label Shell | Fuel Rewards® Card(Citi is a Credit-Land.com advertising partner). With these new cards, people will be able to save on gas purchases and earn rebates. Those with the Shell | Fuel Rewards MasterCard will also be able to earn up to 2% in Shell rebates. With both cards, people are automatically enrolled in Shell's Fuel Rewards program so they can start earning rewards.
New cardholders get an extra bonus too. They save 30 cents per gallon of gas for their first five gas purchases, if they are made from the time they get the card through June 30, 2019. This extra savings is good for up to 20 gallons of gas per purchase. People who want to get this bonus must apply for one of the cards before February 28, 2019, to qualify for this offer.
That said all cardholders can get a 10 cent per gallon discount on gas when pulling up to a Shell-branded station. Here too, the discount is good for up to 20 gallons of gas each time they make a purchase. But that is not all, they are also eligible to earn 10% in Shell rebates on their first $1,200 in non-fuel purchases made at Shell gas station each year.
Earning Shell rebates with the Shell | Fuel Rewards MasterCard
People who opt to apply for the Shell | Fuel Rewards MasterCard will be able to earn 2% in Shell rebates when eating out and buying groceries. This offer is good for the first $10,000 they spend in this category during the year.
All other purchases earn them 1% in Shell rebates whether they are shopping, traveling or doing anything else.
What about redeeming the rebates? Regardless of which credit card people have their rebates will be used to cover purchases made at Shell stations.
New cards, a new collaboration
The rollout of these new cards is due to a partnership between Shell, Citi Retail Services and Excentus, a loyalty marketing and technology firm. "Providing new and innovative offerings for our customers is important to Shell," said Chris Suess, General Manager Payments North America at Shell Oil Products US.
"Working with Citi Retail Services and Excentus, these new payment options will deliver a differentiated and simplified experience for our customers, making it easier for them to pay and save at participating Shell-branded retail stations."
People who want to get more information about these cards can visit the website, or simply text "getrewards" to 56615. They can also get an application at Shell stations across the country.
