A new limited-time offer from Chase and Southwest allows new cardmembers to earn a Companion Pass and 30,000 points. The new welcome bonus offer ends on March 10, 2021.
The Southwest Companion Pass allows you to choose one person to fly with you free of airline charges every time you purchase or redeem points for a flight. The Companion Pass benefit does not exclude taxes and fees that may start from $5.60 oneway.
Typically, to qualify for the Southwest Companion Pass, you need to fly 100 qualifying one-way flights or earn 125,000 qualifying points in a calendar year. This new promo allows new cardmembers to earn the Companion Pass by simply spending $5,000 on purchases in the first three months of account opening.
There are three Southwest credit cards that come with this offer now: Southwest® Rapid Rewards® Plus Credit Card*, Southwest® Rapid Rewards® Premier Credit Card*, and Southwest® Rapid Rewards® Priority Credit Card*. The Companion Pass offered as a part of this limited-time promotion will be valid through February 28, 2022. Normally the Southwest Companion Pass is valid through the remainder of the year in which you earn it and for the following full calendar year.
Here are eligibility criteria for this promotional Companion Pass:
- you are not a current cardmember of any Southwest® Rapid Rewards® credit card
- you haven't received a new cardmember bonus for any Southwest® Rapid Rewards® card within the last 24 months
