With the Chase Freedom Credit Card people earn enhanced rewards in different categories each and every quarter. This fall cardholders will earn 5% back when they use Chase Pay and PayPal to make payments, but that’s not all they will also get the 5% back when shopping at department stores, just in time for the holiday season. They can keep earning the enhanced cashback in these categories until they reach $1,500 in total purchases. From that point on they earn 1% back.

In order to get started cardholders simply head over to the Chase website to activate these categories. The new categories kick in on October 1st and go through until December 31st. “We are always looking to help our cardmembers earn more where they are spending, especially as we approach one of the busiest shopping seasons of the year,” said BJ Mahoney, General Manager of Chase Freedom.

“We’re excited to offer categories that provide added value for cardmembers – whether they’re online hoppers or enjoy visiting department stores,” he added.

Earning points with the Chase Freedom Credit Card

New cardholders can earn a $200 bonus once they spend $500 with their new card on purchases. This must be done within the first 90 days they have their new card.

All cardholders get access to the enhanced categories where they earn 5% as long as they register for it on the website each quarter. These categories change four times a year. All other purchases earn them 1% back, and there is no limit to how much they can earn.

Some people may be wondering if cashback rewards ever expire, and the answer would be no. As long as the cardholder’s account is in good standing cash back rewards are available.

Benefits and perks

The Chase Freedom card also comes along with a variety of benefits and protections, including:

  • Zero Liability Protection
  • Purchase Protection
  • Extended Warranty Protection
  • Fraud Protection and Alerts

Chase also has a refer-a-friend program, so cardholders can earn up to $500 cashback per year for referring friends. They get $50 in cashback per friend and can do this up to ten times during the year. In order to get the cash back, the friend must be approved for the card.

There is no annual fee for this card. People who want to know more about the Chase Freedom Credit Card can check out the website.
