For people who still have the old Hyatt Visa Credit Card upgrading to the new Chase World of Hyatt Credit Card* is now more lucrative. Why? They've raised the upgrade bonus from 2,000 bonus points to 3,500 points. Once they get their new card all cardholders have to do to score this bonus is to spend $1,500 with their card before June 30, 2019.
That said people who do not have the Chase World of Hyatt Card can get an even better bonus than those who are upgrading because it now comes along with 50,000 bonus points. This bonus comes in two parts. First, off new cardholders get 25,000 bonus points once they spend $3,000 within their first 3 months of getting the card. Then once they've reached the $3,000 mark if they spend $6,000 within six months they get an additional 25,000 bonus points.
Once they have earned all these points it will be enough for ten nights in a Hyatt hotel, as long as they book their stay at a Category 1 hotel.
More on the Chase World of Hyatt credit card
From that point on people can keep on earning points. For instance, they earn nine points per dollar on Hyatt stays. They get four points when they use their credit card and another five points on top of that as a World of Hyatt member.
They also earn double points when eating out at restaurants and booking airfare, as long as they book their flights via the airline. Trips booked via a third party site do not earn double points. They also get the double points when hailing a taxi, using mass transit, paying for tolls or using ride-sharing services.
That's not all when signing up for a fitness club or gym cardholders also earn double points. All other spends earn them one point per dollar.
Cardholders also get five Qualifying Night Credits when they get their new card, while also getting automatic elite status.
Free nights
Cardholders also get a free night on their anniversary. They also get another free night once they hit $15,000 in purchases with their new card.
