If you are signed up for a frequent flyer program with the airline that is a SkyTeam member, you will be able to earn and redeem miles with all SkyTeam member airlines. Additionally, members can earn an elite status and receive access to SkyTeam loyalty benefits. There are two SkyTeam elite statuses: SkyTeam Elite and SkyTeam Elite Plus.
Each SkyTeam status unlocks a set of benefits and perks. Thus, SkyTeam Elite members will have such benefits as extra baggage allowance, priority check-in, priority baggage drop-off, priority seating, priority boarding, and priority airport standby. SkyTeam Elite Plus members will enjoy all the benefits of the Elite status plus lounge access, guaranteed reservations on sold-out flights, SkyPriority recognition, priority at transfer desks, priority at immigration and security lanes, and priority baggage handling.
SkyTeam members can enjoy the comfort of more than 790 lounges worldwide. Those lounges include SkyTeam's four dedicated airport lounges that can be found in Istanbul, Vancouver, Dubai, and Sydney. To access any SkyTeam lounge or lounges operated by SkyTeam member airlines, you should have either Elite Plus status or fly First Class or Business Class. SkyTeam Elite Plus members can also invite a guest traveling on a SkyTeam member airline operated flight.
