If you would like to have a travel credit card without annual fee at all, try the Discover it® Miles card. There’s no annual fee (unlike Amex card), it has 0% intro APR on purchases (when the introductory period is over, an ongoing interest will apply) and there are unlimited 1.5x miles on all purchases. All the miles you’ve earned at the end of your first year will be matched if you are a new cardmember. For example, if you earn 30,000 Miles, you get 60,000 Miles.
You may also take a look at the Citi Premier℠ Card. It has special travel perks such as concierge services and $0 liability on unauthorized charges. This credit card comes with $95 a year, waived for first 12 months.
