If you've been turned down for a credit card, the first thing you should do is get a copy of your credit report and find out what might be bringing your credit score down. The best thing to do is order copies of your credit score from each of the three major credit bureaus – Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax. Take a close look and see if all the information is correct. If it isn't, you'll need to get in touch with both the credit bureau and the agency that reported the inaccurate information, to get it changed. You can get your FICO score for free from many different sources as well; find out your score and keep an eye on it as you work to repair your credit. Once your credit score is up, you can think about applying for another credit card. It will take a little time, but it will happen if you put in some effort to build your credit back up.
