I recently bought a car and now want to get a gas credit card and think of getting Sunoco regular card. I do not always buy gas at Sunoco but still leave a considerable amount there. Do you think Sunoco card is a good option?

We would recommend you to make some calculations to see how much you can potentially save on gas purchases using a Sunoco credit card. Remember that Sunoco credit card can’t be used outside the Sunoco locations, so you won’t be able to use this card when fill up at other gas stations. Compare this card with a gas credit card offered by a major bank. For example, it can be the Discover it® chrome card with its 2% cash back on gas and purchases at restaurants. Even with a cap, which is $1,000 for every quarter, you can save more on gas purchases. All other purchases on the card and gas or restaurants purchases after spending cap is reached earn unlimited 1% cash back on all other purchases – automatically. Also, this card can be used everywhere Discover cards are accepted.

I have no interest in another major credit card. I use my Phillips 66 card and my Velaro card and pay them off monthly. My station changed to Sonoco and I would like to obtain a credit card for this station. If that is not possible I will just give up the convenience of this location and drive a little further where I am able to use one of my other gas cards. Thank you for any information you can provide.

Unfortunately, we do not offer the Sunoco credit card. However, you should be able to apply for it on the company’s website. Or you can apply for a gas rewards credit card offered by a major bank and use such card at any station.
