If it is the Disney Rewards Visa card you are considering, then it won’t help you a lot. The card has 1% rewards, which is low even for co-branded cards. And the $50 statement credit is way surpassed by most of any cards. We strongly suggest that you better take a general rewards card, because that way you’ll get much more rewards, and the cards can be used anywhere. For example, the Discover it® Cash Back credit card offers you 1% cash back on all purchases and in addition to that – 5% in selected categories that rotate each quarter (up to the quarterly maximum and if you activate them). And more than that, at the end of the first year of usage (if you are a new cardmember), Discover will match all the cashback you earn.
