The Ritz-Carlton is part of the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio, which means you can use Marriott Bonvoy credit cards to earn points on your stays at The Ritz-Carlton hotels and at other hotels participating in Marriott Bonvoy®. Marriott Bonvoy credit cards are co-branded hotel credit cards, but they can be used for everyday purchases. However, not all Marriott cards earn rewards on all purchases. For example, the Marriott Bonvoy Bold Credit Card* will allow you to earn points at Marriott, grocery stores, on rideshare and select food delivery, and on select streaming, internet, cable, and phone services. Other purchases won't earn rewards.

If you want to earn rewards on all purchases, you can either get a more expensive Marriott Bonvoy credit card or an absolutely different travel rewards credit card.

There are various travel rewards credit cards, and it might be hard to choose one best credit card for you. But if you are new to travel rewards or do not travel more than one or two times a year, look for simple credit cards with moderate annual fees. It might be a cash back credit card with fixed cash back or a card that offers a higher rewards rate on travel purchases. Such cards usually come with low to no annual fees, allow you to earn rewards without staying at hotels, and allow you to redeem earned rewards as statement credits or cash.

If you are an avid traveler and want your new credit card to have some travel benefits in addition to rewards earning, then look for travel rewards credit cards like the Citi Strata Elite℠ Card or the Chase Sapphire Reserve® Credit Card*. Such cards come with various travel credits and benefits like lounge access, upgrades, points transfers, or priority boarding. Another thing to consider when applying for such cards is that they also come with high annual fees and require good-to-excellent credit ratings to qualify.

Additionally, travel rewards credit cards may allow you to transfer points to Marriot Bonvoy. For example, American Express Membership Rewards® cards, Chase Ultimate Rewards® cards, and Bilt cards allow points transfers to Marriott Bonvoy.
