News: Chase's 5% Bonus Categories For Q2 In 2025 - Credit-Land.com

A new quarter means new 5% cash back categories on the Chase Freedom Flex®* and Chase Freedom®* (no longer available) credit cards. Cardholders of these credit cards can now log in to their Chase account and activate new categories. The activation is open until June 14, 2025.

The Q2 bonus categories are Amazon purchases and select streaming services. When you activate, you will earn 5% cash back on up to $1,500 in combined purchases in these categories. If you reach the quarterly limit, you will continue earning 1% cash back in those categories.

Here are more details about the new 5% cash back categories:

- Amazon: Qualifying purchases are the purchases made at Amazon.com (including digital downloads, Amazon.com Gift Cards, Amazon Fresh orders, Amazon Prime subscriptions, and items sold by third-party merchants through Amazon.com's marketplace) and Whole Foods Market (including physical Whole Foods Market, and the website accessible at www.wholefoodsmarket.com).

What is not included: purchases from merchants using Amazon Pay; purchases made at international Amazon retail sites; purchases made at international Whole Foods Market sites; purchases of Whole Foods Market products or services through third-party sites such as Eventbrite, Instacart, Google Express and Shipt; online purchases of Whole Foods Market (including through buyatab.com), event tickets or classes; purchases from certain third-party vendors operating at Whole Foods Market sites; purchases of massage services at any Whole Foods Market site; or purchases from Spa@Ink, in each case in Amazon's sole discretion.

- Select streaming services: only subscription services paid for with the listed select merchants will qualify for this offer: Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, Netflix, Sling, Vudu, Fubo TV, Apple Music, SiriusXM, Pandora, Spotify, YouTube TV, HBO Max, Paramount+, Peacock, and Showtime.

What is not included: purchases other than subscription services, e.g., music or video downloads, equipment, gift cards, etc.

This year Chase Freedom celebrates 15 years of rotating cash back categories, which means we can see a surprise category later this quarter (in June). In the first quarter, such a surprise category was tax preparation and insurance in March only.
