But now if you have one of the Amtrak Guest Rewards credit cards you can actually get money back if you do just that, because cardholders can now get up to 20% back depending upon the card they have in their wallet.

With this new benefit people with the Amtrak Guest Rewards World MasterCard now get a 20% back as a statement credit when they buy food and drinks while on-board the train. While those with the Platinum Amtrak Guest Rewards MasterCard get 10% back.

As already existing cardholders probably know both these cards also come along with different reward earning capabilities and benefits.

The World card

People with the Amtrak Guest Rewards World MasterCard can also take advantage of the limited time sign up bonus. In the past the sign up bonus was 20,000 points but it's been upgraded to 40,000 bonus points. What do cardholders have to do to get these points? It's pretty simple they just have to spend t $2,500 or more using their card within 90 days of having their new card.

They also earn triple points when buying Amtrak tickets and making purchases while on-board the train, and double points when booking all other kinds of travel. All other purchases earn them 1 point per dollar spent.

With this card they also get access to additional perks, including:

  • Free One-Class Upgrade

  • Free Station Lounge Pass

  • There are np Foreign transfer fees to deal with

  • 5% Amtrak Guest Rewards point rebate

Points do not expire with this card, and the annual fee for this card is $79.

Going Platinum

With the Platinum Amtrak Guest Rewards MasterCard new cardholders earn 12,000 bonus points once they spend $1,000 with their card within the first 3 months they have it. When booking tickets with Amtrak they earn double points, and they also earn double points for on-board purchases. All other purchases net them 1 point per dollar spent.

This card also includes a 5% Amtrak Guest Rewards point rebate and here too there are no foreign transaction fees when traveling abroad. Points do not expire with this card, and there is no annual fee.
