News: Get Ready For 2024 With 5% Cashback Bonus® From Discover - Credit-Land.com

If you haven't started planning your 2024 yet, it's time you did. It will be especially easy now when Discover released details of its 5% cashback bonus categories for the first quarter of 2024.

Categories that open Discover's new 5% cashback bonus calendar are restaurants and drug stores. If you already have the Discover it® Cash Back, Discover it® Student Cash Back, or NHL® Discover it® Credit Card, you can log in to your Discover account and activate the upcoming quarter categories.

Keep in mind that if you do not activate, you will earn only 1% cash back at restaurants and drug stores.

The increased 5% rate applies on up to $1,500 spent in the first quarter of 2024. That means you can earn up to $75 in bonus cash back. But don't worry, once you reach the quarter limit, you will continue earning 1% cash back in the quarter categories and on all other purchases without limits.

Discover has not revealed other categories of the 2024 yet. However, you can expect to see bonus categories of the second quarter on March 1, third quarter on June 1, and the fourth quarter on September 1. You can mark your calendar now to make sure you won't miss the activation of new categories.

Just to remind you, current bonus categories are Amazon.com and Target. The activation is still available and you have some time left to activate 5% cash back and maximize your savings in those categories. If you do not have a Discover it card yet, you might want to apply for one now to start strong in 2024.
