News: Now Get a 60K Bonus with the Chase Sapphire Preferred Credit Card - Credit-Land.com

Chase has upped the ante where their Sapphire Preferred Credit Card is concerned by increasing their welcome bonus to 60,000 points, up from the 50,000 points they were offering in the past. New cardholders get the 60K bonus once they spend $4,000 on their card over the first 90 days they have it.

Once they have banked the bonus cardholders can use the points in a variety of ways, including booking trips via the Chase Travel site. Cardholders can also use their points with transfer partners like Southwest Airlines, JetBlue, Marriott hotels, Singapore Airlines, and Aer Lingus.

There is one downside to this equation. In the past, the $95 annual fee had been waived for the first year the cardholder had their card, but this offer is now off the table.

Earning and redeeming points

With this credit card, people earn double points when they book travel whether that means paying for airline tickets, car rentals, train tickets, hotel stays, or something else.

They also get double points when they eat out at restaurants in the United States and around the world. All other purchases get them one point per dollar.

When it comes to redeeming point's cardholders get 25% more when using Chase Ultimate Rewards to book travel. What does this mean? It means that the 60k bonus is worth $750 worth of travel rather than $600 when booking with Chase Ultimate Rewards.

People can also get a 1:1 transfer rate with select airlines, including:

  • Aer Lingus, AerClub

  • British Airways Executive Club

  • Flying Blue AIR FRANCE KLM

  • Iberia Plus

  • JetBlue TrueBlue

  • Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer

  • Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards

  • United MileagePlus

  • Virgin Atlantic Flying Club

This same redemption rate is in play with some hotel partners too, including IHG Rewards Club, Marriott Bonvoy and World of Hyatt.
