News: Southwest Airlines To Open First-Ever Airport Lounges In Late 2027 - Credit-Land.com

Southwest Airlines has officially announced that Southwest airport lounges are coming to select airports beginning in late 2027.

Southwest is partnering with Chase to bring together Southwest's hospitality and the success of the Chase Sapphire Reserve Lounge Network℠ to create a premium and welcoming airport experience. Travelers can expect sophisticated design of welcoming spaces, locally inspired dining, high-quality amenities, and valuable travel benefits that are offered today in the Chase Sapphire Reserve Lounge Network.

Construction is already in progress at four locations, and the first guests are expected to be welcomed in late 2027. The first four locations include:

  • Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS)
  • Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI)
  • Daniel K. Inouye (Honolulu) International Airport (HNL)
  • Nashville International Airport (BNA)

There are at least seven more Southwest lounges planned to open over the next several years across high-demand business and leisure markets.

Southwest is planning to grant access to the new Southwest lounge network via a new, premium Southwest Rapid Rewards® Credit Card issued by Chase. The launch of the card is planned for next year. There's no information on whether any existing Southwest credit cards or Chase credit cards will offer access to new lounges.
