News: American Airlines Hikes Admirals Club Membership Rates - Credit-Land.com

American Airlines is making big changes to the Admirals Club® membership rates. The airline is considerably increasing the cost of standard lounge membership and introducing a new membership targeted at solo travelers.

Beginning August 23, American will increase the annual price for its standard membership from the maximum of $850 to up to $1,400. However, there will be introduced a new single membership that will be a less expensive option for solo travelers.

The standard Admirals Club membership will include access to nearly 50 Admirals Club lounges, more than 60 partner lounges, and will give privileges for immediate family or up to two guests. Here's how much travelers will pay for this membership beginning August 23:

  • AAdvantage® member: $1,400 or 140,000 AAdvantage® miles
  • AAdvantage Gold®: $1,350 or 135,000 AAdvantage® miles
  • AAdvantage Platinum®: $1,300 or 130,000 AAdvantage® miles
  • AAdvantage Platinum Pro®: $1,250 or 125,000 AAdvantage® miles
  • AAdvantage Executive Platinum®: $1,200 or 120,000 AAdvantage® miles

The new single membership won't include all benefits of the standard membership. The access to Admirals Club lounges will be for the member only. It won't include guest privileges or access to partner lounges. The new single membership will cost $750 or 75,000 AAdvantage® miles, regardless of elite status.

American Airlines will discontinue household memberships starting August 23, 2026. All current memberships will be valid through the membership year. After that, members will be able to select a new membership option.

These updated Admirals Club annual rates and the introduction of a new single membership come along with the refresh of the airline's flagship credit card with lounge access. The Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive Mastercard®* will be launched refreshed with enhanced benefits on August 23, 2026, as well.
