News: The Southwest Rapid Rewards Priority Card Goes Live - Credit-Land.com

Chase and Southwest Airlines have partnered to design the new Southwest Rapid Rewards Priority credit card, offering double points on every dollar spent booking flights with Southwest Airlines. Cardholders also get double points when booking stays at Rapid Rewards hotels and when renting a car with their partners. All other purchases earn them one point per dollar.

The Southwest Rapid Rewards Priority credit card is now available and comes with up to 65,000 bonus points, which are available for a limited time. Cardholders earn 40,000 points once they spend $1,000 within 90 days of getting the card. Then once they spend another $15,000 during their first year, they get another 25,000 points.

Travelers would be able to use these points to get flights to a variety of locations, and some new ones are coming too. "We think the new Priority card will be perfect for our customers seeking to experience all that Southwest has to offer, especially as we look to launch service to Hawaii very soon," said Ryan Green, Southwest Airlines Vice President, and Chief Marketing Officer.

The benefits and perks

With this card, people get a variety of additional benefits, including receiving 7,500 anniversary points every year, along with a $75 travel credit from Southwest to cover expenses.

Cardholders also receive as many as four upgraded boardings during the year when they are available. They also get 20% back when making purchases while in the air, on everything from drinks and Wi-Fi to messages and movies.

When traveling abroad, people can use their card without having to deal with foreign transaction fees.

What about blackout dates when booking flights with points? Travelers do not have to deal with blackout dates or seat restrictions when using their points to fly with Southwest Airlines.

Also, there is no charge for their bags and there are no change fees when flying with Southwest Airlines.

Getting A-List Status and points

With the Southwest Rapid Rewards Priority credit card, people can earn points that can be used toward getting A-List and A-List preferred status. Cardholders can earn 1,500 Tier Qualifying Points (TQPs) with every $10,000 spent, maxing out at 15,000 TQPs.

Also, points can be used to earn the Southwest Companion Pass, and as long as the account is open, points never expire. There are no limits on how many points you can earn.

The annual fee for this card is $149. To get more information about this card, head over to this website.
