Hi, I’ve recently began taking interest in the world of credit and I was wondering what would be a good credit card for me to start with so I can begin establishing my credit profile. I was interested in the Lumber Liquidators card, along with several other cards. Do you think the Lumber Liquidators card is a good card to start with, or should I keep looking?

The content is accurate at the time of publication and is subject to change.

If you are an individual who is looking to establish their credit profile, you are going to want to find a few key features in whatever card it is that you apply for. First of all you want to ensure that the card is reporting your credit activity to the major credit bureaus. The Lumber Liquidators card is associated with Synchrony Bank so fortunately, this card does report activity. Secondly, you want to ensure that whatever card it is you apply for, it won’t cause you to earn an unpayable debt. The Lumber Liquidators card has a very high APR and is limited to one chain of stores. If I were you, I would skip this card and instead look for a more general card, and use that card responsibly.
