The cashRewards Credit Card is the all-purpose cash back card, which primarily serves military personnel and their families. This card offers up to 1.75% unlimited cash back on everyday purchases for select members, promotes a $200 welcome bonus, but is not available to the general public.

If you do not have current or past affiliation with the Armed Forces, it is better to consider general rewards credit cards with a flat-rate rewards structure. The Citi Double Cash® Card (Citi is a Credit-Land.com advertising partner), for example, earns 2% cash back on all purchases - 1% when purchases are made and another 1% when they're paid off. No changing categories activation or membership is required. Plus, up to 0.5% advantage over the cashRewards Card can significantly add up over the course of the year.

The Citi Double Cash also comes with an intro APR offer on balance transfers for 18 months. After that, the standard variable APR will be 18.49% - 28.49%, based on creditworthiness. There is also an intro balance transfer fee of either $5 or 3% of the amount of each transfer, whichever is greater, completed within the first 4 months of account opening (5% of each transfer (minimum $5) after that).
