There are in fact many credit cards that we recommend. You could apply for a card from your most frequently visited gas station, like Exxon Mobil credit card, but if you're really trying to get the most out of all your purchases, that wouldn't be a great option. To get the most rewards for everything you buy, the best thing you could do is review some of the more general reward credit card options, especially gas rewards credit cards. Many of today's more basic rewards credit cards will allow the cardholder to collect either cash back or reward points on the purchases they make. For example, if you were to apply for the Discover it® Cash Back credit card, you will always be able to collect 1% cash back on all your fuel purchases and 5% cash back during its rotating category quarter for gas stations (on up to the quarterly maximum, you have to enroll each time to get it). All the cash back you've earned at the end of your first year will be matched, automatically (providing you are a new cardmember).
