News: Chase Revealed 5% Bonus Categories of First Quarter of 2023 - Credit-Land.com

The 2023 is almost here and if you haven't activated the next 5% bonus categories for the first quarter of 2023 on your Freedom or Freedom Flex card, it's time you did.

Those who have Chase's Freedom or Freedom Flex card can now activate 5% cash back bonus categories for the first quarter of 2023. You have not much time to activate as the first quarter's bonus-earning window begins on January 1 and runs through March 31, 2023. While you have time to activate the category until March 14, 2023, it's better to activate in advance to have enough time to maximize your rewards.

Please keep in mind that 5% cash back on categories is not unlimited. Cardmembers can earn 5% back on up to $1,500 of spending in quarterly categories during the eligible quarter. When you reach the cap, you will continue earning 1% cash back on those quarterly purchases.

Here are Freedom and Freedom Flex bonus categories for the first quarter of the new year:

  • Grocery stores (excluding Walmart®).
  • Target.
  • Fitness Clubs and gym memberships.

Just make sure you activate these categories to unlock 5% rewards. If you do not have the Freedom or Freedom Flex card, you can apply for the second one online at the issuer's official website.

If Chase's 5% bonus categories do not fit your first quarter spending, check out Discover's 5% calendar. With the Discover it® Cash Back card, you will earn 5% cash back at drug stores, grocery stores, and on select streaming services during the first quarter of 2023. Again, you will need to activate the bonus categories and your earnings will be limited to up to $1,500 of spending in bonus categories.
