Right now, small business owners that apply for and get the Platinum Delta SkyMiles Business Credit Card can earn more points and get access to a special sign-up bonus. When it comes to earning miles with this limited-time offer, new cardholders earn 5 miles for every dollar spent on qualified purchases during the first six months they have the card. After that point, they earn 2 miles per dollar when making purchases via Delta Airlines. All other purchases earn them 1 mile.

You can also earn 35,000 bonus miles, along with 5,000 Medallion Qualification Miles (MQM's) that count toward elite status. What do you have to do to get the new two-tier bonus? The bonus miles will appear in your account once they make a $1,000 spend within the first 90 days they have the card. This special offer is good until July 31, 2018.

In addition to the bonus miles and the MQM's, cardholders also get a $100 statement credit once they make a purchase with Delta during the first 90 days they have the card.

Platinum benefits

The Platinum Delta SkyMiles Business Credit Card also comes with additional travel perks, including priority boarding and getting one free checked bag. There are no foreign transaction fees with this card when traveling abroad. When traveling with Delta, cardholders also get 20% off their in-flight purchases.

Perhaps the most valuable recurring benefit is the annual Companion Pass. Cardholders can take a family or friend with them on a domestic main cabin round-trip flight every year as long as their card is renewed. Also, if they spend $25,000 during the year they earn an extra 10,000 bonus miles and 10,000 MQMs.

Using those miles

Members of the Delta SkyMiles Program will be able to use the miles they earn to buy tickets, as well as get seat upgrades. They can also use them to rent a car, buy merchandise and purchase gift cards. The Medallion Qualification Miles can be used to gain Medallion status in the SkyMiles program.

Do miles expire with this card? No; People keep their miles for as long as they have the card, and there is no limit to how many points they can earn with this card.
