The acquisition of Whole Foods by Amazon has upped the ante for Amazon Prime Rewards Visa cardholders because they now earn 5% back when shopping at the Whole Foods Market, whether they are buying groceries, organic vegetables, body care products, or anything else.
The 5% back cardholders earn at Wholefoods when using their Amazon Rewards Visa card is in addition to the 5% they already get on all their purchases at Amazon.com, Amazon Fresh, and on Chase Travel purchase, and the 2% back at gas stations, restaurants, and on local transit and commuting. All other purchases earn them 1% back.
"We are excited to launch the Amazon Rewards Visa Card in our stores, offering benefits to our customers on all of their purchases at Whole Foods Market," said John Mackey, Whole Foods Market co-founder, and CEO.
Amazon Rewards Visa Cardholders Earn More Too
On the other hand, cardholders who have the Amazon Rewards Visa* card also get more rewards. They now earn 3% back when shopping at Whole Foods Market in addition to the 3% they earn when shopping on Amazon.com, Amazon Fresh, and on Chase Travel.
They also continue to earn 2% on purchases made at gas stations, restaurants, and on local transit and commuting (including rideshare). They also earn 1% back on everything else.
Redeeming Rewards and Travel Benefits
Regardless of which card people have there is no limit to how many points they earn. Also, rewards do not expire, as long as the cardholder's account is active. Rewards can be redeemed for merchandise, as well as cash back, travel and gift cards.

- Travel accident insurance
- Lost luggage reimbursement
- Baggage delay insurance
- Travel accident insurance
Cardholders also get access to the Visa Signature Luxury Hotel Collection.
