News: New SPG Amex Luxury Card Arrives This Summer - Credit-Land.com

The Starwood Preferred Guest American Express Luxury card is coming this August, along with the new SPG and Marriott combined rewards program. This card offers 6x the points when booking stays at SPG and Marriott Rewards hotels and 3x points on airline tickets and restaurants. All other purchases earn double points.

In addition to the enhanced points, cardholders will get up to $300 in statement credits during each renewal year to offset expenses made at SPG and Marriott hotels. They will also get a yearly Annual Night Award at a redemption level that is 50,000 points or less.

Cardholders also automatically get Gold Elite Status. They can get upgraded to Platinum Elite Status once they spend $75,000 on the card during a year.

More benefits for travelers

Cardholders get a $100 credit toward the Global Entry fee or an $85 credit to cover their TSA pre-check fee.

Do you love chilling in an airport lounge? With this card you'll get a Priority Pass Select membership, giving you access to more than one thousand airport lounges located around the world.

Cardholders do not have any foreign transaction fees to deal with, while free Boingo Wi-Fi is also part of the benefits package.

The fee for this card is $450.

Getting more with consumer and business cards, too

The other Starwood consumer and business cards are getting an upgrade, too. People with the Starwood Preferred Guest consumer credit card from American Express will get 6x points when staying at SPG and Marriott Rewards hotels, and double points on everything else.

Here, too, they will get an Annual Night Award, but the redemption level is 35,000 points or less. The award night drops on the users account anniversary.

Cardholders automatically get Silver Elite Status, but they can also get upgraded to Gold Elite Status with a $30,000 spend during the year. That said, starting January 1, 2019, cardholders will earn Gold Elite Status once they spend $35,000 during the year. The package also includes no foreign transaction fees.

With the Starwood Preferred Guest Business credit card from American Express, business owners earn 6x the points at SPG and Marriott hotels, as well as four points for every dollar spent at restaurants and gas stations. They also earn 4x the points when paying for wireless telephone services and when shipping in the U.S. All other purchases earn double points.

Small business cardholders also get the Annual Night Award at a 35,000-point redemption level. They automatically get Silver Elite Status and can bump it up to Gold Status with a $30,000 spend.

Both the consumer and business card comes with a $95 fee.
