News: Ultimate Rewards Points Can Now Pay for Flights with Southwest Airlines - Credit-Land.com

There is good news for people with the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card and Chase Sapphire Reserve credit cards - they can now use their Chase Ultimate Rewards points to get tickets on Southwest Airlines. As some cardholders may already know as recently as last year they could use their points to book tickets with Southwest Airlines, but once Chase made Expedia their booking site, all of that changed.

How do cardholders book tickets with points on Southwest Airlines? All they need to do is make a call, book their flight and use points to pay for them. When cardholders use their Chase Ultimate Rewards points they will be transferred at a fixed value.

The Sapphire credit cards

With the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card new cardholders can get 60,000 bonus points once they spend $4,000 during the first 3 months they have the card. And when booking travel via Chase Ultimate Rewards points are worth 25% more. When you do the math this bonus is worth $750 in travel when booking travel via Chase.

Once they have pocketed that bonus they keep earning points. They can earn double points when booking airfare and hotel stays, as well as when taking the train or a taxi. Cardholders will be pleased to learn that they also earn double points when eating out whether they are heading to a restaurant close to home or out of town. All other purchases earn them one point per dollar they spend. The annual fee for this card is $95.

With the Chase Sapphire Reserve® Credit Card, new cardholders earn 60,000 bonus points with a spend of $4,000 during the first 3 months they have the card. On a day to day bias, they earn triple points on travel, as well as when they heading out to restaurants.
