The thing about the American Eagle credit card is that it isn't too special. This credit card offers fairly standard benefits for a store credit card. Some of these benefits include a discount on your first account purchase, a birthday discount and $0 fraud liability. Aside from this, they have a fairly standard rewards program. This card allows cardholders to earn points for shopping, then redeem those points on gift cards that can only be used in their store. I would recommend you skip looking at store cards all together, because there is an endless amount of store cards that offer the same benefits. I would instead recommend that you look for a general bank credit card that also provides rewards.

For example, take a look at the Discover it® Cash Back credit card. It offers 5% cash back on everyday purchases at different places each quarter like grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations, up to the quarterly maximum when you activate. When you reach the cap, you will continue earning 1% cash back on all purchases. Also Discover will match ALL the cash back earned for the first year (provided you are a new cardmember). You can redeem rewards any amount, anytime.
