If you do not fly a lot on Japan Airways there is no need for you to apply their card as your rewards earning rates will be low and won't cover for an annual fee. If you want to earn miles rewards and do not want to pay an annual fee, consider applying to the Discover it® Miles. It gives you good 1.5 miles per dollar on all purchases and matches all miles at the end of the first year (provided you are a new cardmember), making them twice as many. Moreover, card do not charge annual and foreign transaction fees.
