CareCredit is a healthcare credit card that can only be used for medical needs at certain doctors or medical centers. They offer interest free promotional periods starting at six months. But once the promotional period ends, you will be charged interest and if the balance is not paid in full within this period, the interest will be charged to your account from the date of service.

If your dentist accepts other credit cards, consider applying for a general credit card like the Discover it® Cash Back. This card can be used everywhere Discover is accepted. The card has a 15-month introductory period on purchases and balance transfers (when the introductory interest rate is over, 17.24% - 28.24% Variable APR will apply), plus you will be able to earn cash back on all eligible purchases. Also, the interest rate for this card is lower in comparison with CareCredit rates.
