According to the rules, RCI rewards can only be redeemed for RCI purchaces, such as airline tickets, hotels or other things booked through RCI. You also need to keep in mind that redemptions start from 2,000 rewards and this is also a minimum of what you can redeem. Rewards will expire four (4) years from the end of the calendar quarter in which they were first earned.

If you don't like being this limited or don't spend that much on RCI purchases, consider general travel credit cards. Rewards on such cards never expire and you can usually redeem them on any purchases.
