Starting in December Capital One is partnering with a dozen airlines so their cardholders can transfer their miles and book flights. The new transfer benefit will be available to people with the Capital One® Venture®, Spark® Miles and Spark® Miles Select credit cards. With this upgrade, they will be able to book flights, as well as scoop up airline award tickets, upgrade flights and take advantage of point transfer promotions offered by airlines.
The travel loyalty programs that cardholders will be able to transfer miles to starting next month include:
• Aeroplan (Air Canada)
• Cathay Pacific
• Etihad Airways
• EVA Air
• Flying Blue (Air France and KLM)
• Hainan Airlines
• Qatar Airways
What will the transfer ratio be for Spark and Venture cardholders? They will be able to transfer miles to these partner airlines at a 2:1.5 ratio.
Capital One offers great bonus for the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card
People who do not have the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card may want to take a close look at it - they are offering a 60,000 miles sign up bonus.
Once people get their new credit card they get the bonus, once they spend $3,000, within the first 3 months of having the card. When they have completed the required spend they get the 60,000-mile bonus.
What can they do with those miles? If they use the Venture Card’s Purchase Eraser those miles translate into $500 worth of travel. They can use it to buy flights, book a hotel, rent a car and on other kinds of travel.
That said they can also transfer miles to one of the new partner airlines and book travel that way.
