Capital One has partnered up with 10+ airlines so that Venture and Spark cardholders can now use miles to pay for their flights. What is the transfer ratio? All of the carriers that have partnered up with Capital One, except for Emirates and Singapore, offer cardholders a transfer rate of 2 miles for 1.5 airline miles. While Emirates and Singapore let cardholders exchange 2 miles for 1 airline mile.

The airlines that have partnered with Capital One include:

  • Aeromexico
  • Air Canada Aeroplan
  • Air France/KLM
  • Alitalia
  • Avianca
  • Asia Miles
  • Emirates Skywards
  • Etihad
  • EVA
  • Finnair
  • Hainan
  • JetBlue
  • Qantas
  • Qatar
  • Singapore KrisFlyer

What cards include this airline transfer option? They include Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card, Capital One® VentureOne® Rewards Credit Card, Capital One® Spark® Miles Select for Business, and the Capital One® Spark® Miles for Business.

Somethings stay the same

While this is a change for cardholders, they can also opt to keep using the current system for redeeming miles. The old system lets them use their miles to pay off travel expenses charged to their credit card if they do not want to use their miles directly with the airline they are flying with or they want to use a different carrier while traveling.

This option also makes it possible to use their miles to pay off non-airline based expenses, including hotels, rental cars, cruises and of course flights.

With this option, their miles are also redeemed for their full value, which for Capital One means that each point is worth 1 cent when using points to pay off travel expenses. On the other hand with the transfer partner option offers them a transfer rate of 2 credit card miles for 1.5 airlines miles, or 2 credit card miles for 1 airline miles.

Earning 10x points with Hotels.com

For people looking to increase their point earning potential when traveling and using their Capital One Venture credit card, they can earn 10x the points when booking hotel stays via Hotels.com. People looking to check out this option can visit the website.
