People looking to use their Amex points to book a stay now have more options with the news that cardholders can now use their points to book a stay at American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts. This offer is geared toward people with Platinum or Centurion-branded credit cards, like the Platinum Card from American Express and the Business Platinum Card from American Express.
Cardholders have been receiving emails announcing the news. In order to check out this offer cardholders must log into their account where they can find the "pay with points option."
Perks with American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts
What's also interesting about the American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts program is that cardholders get access to a variety of perks and benefits, including being able to check out at 4 pm (guaranteed), and getting breakfast every day for two people. Cardholders can also take advantage of a unique amenity at certain properties. These amenities typically have a value of $100.
They can also get a free room upgrade when is available, along with free Wi-Fi.
The cards, the points
People who are interested in this offer may want to check out the credit cards that give them entre to the American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts program. As we mentioned earlier this includes the Business Platinum Card from American Express and Platinum Card from American Express.
What do these cards offer people? That is a great question. With Platinum Card from American Express cardholders can earn a 75,000 point bonus with a $5000 spend during the first three months they have the card. On a day to day level, they can earn 5X points when booking flights directly with airlines or via American Express travel. The same earning level is also in play when they book and prepay for hotel stays using American Express travel. All other spends get them one point per dollar spent.
This card also offers cardholders $15 a month in a credit to spend on Uber rides and free access to centurion lounges. The annual fee for this card is $550.
What about the Business Platinum Card from American Express? With this card, cardholders earn 50,000 bonus points when they spend $10,000 and then an additional 25,000 points with an additional spend of 10,000. These spends must occur during the first three months they have the card.
Here too cardholders earn 5X points when booking flights via airlines or American Express travel, and 5X points on prepaid hotel stays with American Express Travel.
They also include a variety of travel benefits with this card as well as statement credits from Dell and a free year of Platinum Global access from WeWork.
There is a $595 annual fee with this card.
