You get 5,000 bonus points for the first time you use the card. More importantly you can use to card to get lot of discount on your airline tickets. For example, a points tally of 40,000 points can provide for a ticket costing you 500 dollars and 16,000 points will give you an airline gift card worth 200 dollars. You can in fact use this as a nice gift to friends or family members for a special occasion. However, you must be careful to use up the points in time which have an expiration date of around 5 years. One of the best cards for travel is the American Express card. The credit card rewards from this company allow you to accumulate bonus points and use them well. In some cases, you have points but they are less than what you need. Now the american express card will allow you to transfer your points to 20 different frequent flier accounts with every point equal to a frequent flyer mile. New customers also avail the credit card rewards with 5000 bonus miles and if you plan your expenditures well, the big ones especially, like buying appliances or vehicles, you can get lot of bonus points and sponsor yourself a nice round trip within the country. Travel cards also give you important rewards like travel emergency assistance where the card if stolen will be replaced quickly along with other assistance you may require when on a vacation. You can avail the auto rental collision coverage and travel luggage misplacement reimbursement, all of which come very handy during adverse situations when one is taking a vacation. Some travel cards offer lot of other benefits like discounts at restaurants, on food and wine and also hotels all over the world.
