When it comes to looking for a card that you are going to use to begin establishing your credit profile, there are a few important factors you should know about. The amount of love you have for a store is not the only factor that comes into play when selecting a card that is right for you. One thing you want to ensure is that the card you are applying for is reporting your credit activity to the major credit bureaus. The BJs credit card is issued by Comenity Capital Bank, so this card is reporting payment history to the bureaus. Another thing you want to ensure is that the card you are applying for is not going to be a card that will cause you to collect an unpayable balance, this would reflect negatively on your credit profile. If I were you, I would consider choosing a more general bank issued credit card and only spend what you can afford to pay off each month.
