I am really interested in the Art Van credit card; however, I want a card that can be used at a wide range of places. Would this be a good card to suit my needs?

This is always a good factor to take into consideration whenever you are applying for a new credit card. The Art Van card is a store credit card, and just like many great store cards before it, this card is not affiliated with any major payment network like Visa, MasterCard, or AmEx. What this means is that this card was made to be used only at Art Van. Unfortunately, this credit card would only be useful to you when shopping at this one store. On the other hand, if you are looking for a credit card option that would better suit your needs, you may want to try looking into a more general credit card option offered by a bank. Cards offered by banks are almost always affiliated with some major payment network. In addition, bank credit cards usually come with significantly lower APRs and higher credit limits.
