I often fly with Southwest Airlines but I also fly with other airlines, so I don’t want to apply for their Rapid credit card. I need a card that will get me a reward ticket regardless the airline I fly.

It's understandable that you do not want to apply for the Rapid Visa card as it won't allow you to earn big rewards everywhere and won't allow you to redeem the way you want. Therefore, we can recommend you to consider a general credit card with rewards program, not an airline-branded credit card. Earn miles or points on every purchase you make and redeem them with any airline.
