The Royal Caribbean® Visa Signature® Credit Card has a rather fancy redemption system. However, MyCruise points can be redeemed for a variety of cruise-related options, including room upgrades, discounts and onboard credit used for purchases made at the ship's spa, gift shop, bar and so forth, you are limited to certain options depending on how many points you've earned.

For example, 30,000 MyCruise points can be redeemed for a $300 discount off any Celebrity Cruise. 40,000 MyCruise points can be redeemed for an upgrade on a 7 to 8 night Celebrity Cruises Caribbean vacation (veranda to the minimum available concierge class stateroom). If you hit 50,000 points, you can choose one of the options: $500 Royal Caribbean or Celebrity Cruises onboard credit toward onboard purchases, $500 discount off any Royal Caribbean or Celebrity Cruise, upgrade on a 9+ night Celebrity Cruises Caribbean cruise, or a 3 or 4 night Royal Caribbean cruise.

Thus, the card only makes sense for those looking to save for a cruise or who are regulars on the Royal Caribbean fleet. For those unsure of which line they prefer, the Discover it® Miles card might be a good choice.

This no-annual-fee card also earns 1.5x miles on all purchases and comes with 15 months of 0% intro APR on purchases and balance transfers (17.24% - 28.24% Variable APR after that). As a bonus, Discover will match all the miles you earn in the first year, with no cap. In other words, you'll earn a respectable 3x miles on all purchases in the first year.

With the Discover it Miles card, you can redeem miles to cover any eligible travel purchases you make with your card, including cruises, airfare, hotel stays and more, at a rate of 1 cent per mile. This means that 42,989 miles would be equal to $430 in cash back.

You don't have to book travel through a specific portal, nor do you have to worry about blackout dates or capacity controls. From there, you can use the Discover it® Miles you've earned to cover any travel bookings by turning your miles into statement credits for travel purchases made within the last 180 days.

Plus, you can redeem your Discover it® Miles for cash back in the form of a statement credit toward your account balance at the consistent rate of 1 cent per mile.
